Orissa-Vidarbha Cooch Behar clash ends in draw

The four-day Plate-A Cooch Behar Trophy (u-19) cricket match between Orissa and Vidarbha ended in a draw at Nagpur today. Chasing a victory target of 354 runs, Orissa reached 268 for six wickets before both the captains agreed for the draw. Host Vidarbha, however, secured three points by virtue of taking a 23-run first innings lead, while Orissa contended themselves with one point.

Among notable Orissa performers, skipper Abhilash Mallick scored a half century in both the innings, opener Subhrajyoti Mishra slammed 93 in the first innings, all-rounder Ankit Yadav bagged three wickets in the first innings and scored a half-century in the second and Soumendra Das scalped five wickets in the match.

This was the second Plate Group-A match for Orissa and they now have six points, out of which five points came from their dramatic three-wicket win over Goa. Orissa would next meet Kerala at Ravenshaw University ground in Cuttack from December 4 to 7.
